Carrie Rehkopf has maintained an active career as performer and teacher.
In Washington, she has soloed with the Everett, Olympia, Wenatchee
and Yakima Symphonies, as well as given the world premiere of Maria
Newman's violin concerto, which she subsequently recorded at Capitol
Records. Ms. Rehkopf has also performed on chamber music concerts
at the Tanglewood, Banff and Norfolk festivals. In her fifteenth year
serving as the violin professor at Central Washington University in
Ellensburg, her students have received many awards and are immediately
employed upon graduation. In 2004 she received the Outstanding College
String Teacher award from the Washington ASTA/NSOA chapter.

Violinist Heather Netz was invited to Athens, Greece to give
a series of solo performances with the Greek contemporary company,
QuasiStellar Dance Theater. Performing the music of Xenakis, she played
for the athletic welcoming ceremonies in the Olympic Village during
the 2004 Summer Olympic Games, and returned to Greece in this January
to perform music by Paganini. She recently received a Post-Graduate
Diploma of Orchestral Performance with Distinction from the Royal
Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland, where she
won the first prize of the Ian D. Watt Award, a competition of the
Sonata and Chamber works by Claude Debussy. Alongside her classical
education, she studied Scottish fiddle with Pete Clark and was featured
on Clark's album Mackintosh at Murthly- The Music of Robert Mackintosh.
Ms. Netz received her Master of Music and Bachelor's Degree from the
Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. While in upstate New York
she freelanced with her ensemble Four on the Floor, a string quartet
known by their eclectic and stylish repertoire spanning standard classical
to jazz favorites. (complete

Timothy Betts joined the faculty of Central Washington University
this fall teaching viola, chamber music, and music theory. As a member
of the Kairos String Quartet he frequently performs and gives master
classes throughout the Northwest. Before coming to Washington, Mr.
Betts was active as an orchestral and chamber musician in New York
State. He earned a Masters Degree in Viola Performance and served
as teaching assistant to Debra Moree at Ithaca College and as teaching
assistant to Patricia McCarty at the Meadowmount School of Music.
Mr. Betts also holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota
where he pursued performance studies with Korey Konkol. |

John Michel, cello professor at Central Washington University,
enjoys performing chamber music, recitals and concertos including in
the past Elgar's Concerto with the Everett Symphony. He was solo
artist at the First Kobe International Cello Festival, Japan in 2001.
At the World Cello Congress III, he premiered Maria Newman’s Solo
Sonata, which you can hear at johnmichel.com. In 1996, the ASTA
Washington chapter named him Outstanding College String Teacher. He
is also founder of the Internet Cello Society (cello.org).

Anna Jensen, double bassist, was recently
appointed as the adjunct assistant professor of double bass at Bowling
Green State University. This last year, Anna finished her second
year of doctoral studies in double bass performance at the University
of Michigan where she studies with Dr. Diana Gannett and is a full scholarship
recipient and graduate student instructor. As an active orchestral musician,
Anna is the principal bassist for the Plymouth Symphony, Orchestra Canton,
the Lake Chelan Bach Fest, and is the assistant-principal bassist for
the Adrian Symphony. She also performs with the Shenandoah Bach Festival,
the Warren Symphony, the Battle Creek Symphony and has performed with
the National Orchestral Institute Orchestra, the Spokane Symphony, the
Ann Arbor Symphony, and the Windsor Symphony. She holds degrees from
the University of Michigan (MM) and Central Washington University (BMA).
Her previous teachers include Stephen Molina, Detroit Symphony; Barry
Lieberman, University of Washington; John Michel, Central Washington
University; and Kara Hunnicutt, Wenatchee. (complete

Mark Goodenberger, percussionist and composer, is the
Director of Percussion Studies at Central Washington University in Ellensburg,
WA. As percussionist with the Third Angle New Music Ensemble and timpanist
with the Portland Baroque Orchestra and Trinity Consort, he is a specialist
in contemporary and baroque music. He has worked with composers such
as Steve Reich, Libby Larsen, Chen Yi, Tomas Svoboda, George Crumb,
Karlheinz Stockhausen, Elliott Carter, Lou Harrison, Mark Polishook,
and Chinary Ung. As a concert recitalist, he has premiered many pieces
of his own, written for a wide variety of instruments. His compositions
bring together elements of theater, dance and vaudeville into the unrestricted
world of percussion.
